My guitar. It's not actually that color, but it made the photo look cooler. It's a fairly plain, standard beginner Fender. But I like it. I've been tempted to paint it. My real goal, though, is to play it! I've never gotten past a basic ability to play basic chords...but one day, I want to be able to play real songs on it.

With all the lights, night is a surreal landscape around here. Colors are different but the same, and once the noise of so many students dies down, it's really peaceful. In fact, at this especially crazy time of year, looking at this photo makes me want to go to sleep.

"Even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you." Psalm 139:12

This has been a good spring for flowers. Not much rain, so all the flowering trees around here - pear, cherry, dogwood and redbud - have bloomed beautifully. I love this time of year.

Photo-a-day

I had this idea last year to take a photo of something - anything - every day, though I don't know where the inspiration came from. Just a few weeks ago I saw the work of Colin Harman, who suggested this cool idea as well. I have a camera with me almost everywhere I go... So, here goes my attempt at a photo a day.

My parents sent me a care package containing bagel chips among other things. They're quite good!
